

| We hope you will choose SHOOT NJ for your firearms instruction. We understand you will shop around and we encourage that. Please REMEMBER! When you look at other NRA classes the Instructor MUST... 1. Provide you with a NRA student packet a. Student manual for the class b. Blue Safety brochure c. Test (not for First Steps class) d. Basic Practical Rocker e. NRA Basic Firearm Training Program brochure f. Winchester/NRA Marksmanship booklet (No photocopy's are allowed) 2. Instruction MUST be conducted with a real firearm that uses a cartridge. Things like BB guns, Airsoft, Paintball, Pellet Gun or anything other device may only be used as a teaching tool. The NRA ONLY allows a student to qualify with a firearm that uses a cartridge. 3. The times listed below are the minimum lengths of classes. Times will vary due to number of students (But not much) 4. All Basic Classes must demonstrate all Actions associated with that discipline (class) Example: A BASIC pistol class must be at least 8 hours total, a minimum of three (3) gun actions must be demonstrated. A single action revolver, double action revolver and semi-automatic pistol. A BASIC Rifle class must be at least 14 hours total, a minimum of break action, pump action, bolt action, lever action, falling block and semi-automatic must be demonstrated. (shotgun actions may be substituted as they operate the same mechanically) There is a written test with all BASIC classes. .22 are all you are required to fire in pistols and rifle for basic classes. 5. FIRST STEPS is Firearm Specific. (This class is if you want to learn about ONE (1) type of gun.) Example Glock 19 First Steps Orientation class is a minimum of three (3) hours including range time. There is NO test with a First Steps Class. All of this information is available on the NRA web site under programs Other handouts, use of PowerPoints, use of different firearms is not regulated by the NRA and is up to the instructor teaching the class. SHOOT NJ uses a hands on approach to instructing in addition to PowerPoints, handouts and allow our students to try most of our firearms, we supply lunch, tasty beverages, light breakfast, NRA Course material, Range fees, Ammunition, hearing and sight protection.
